Get Advice!

It’s okay not to know everything! Buying or refinancing a home can be a confusing process. The important thing is to get EDUCATED on the homebuying process and ask for advice when you need it.

One of the easiest ways to get advice is to find a lender you can trust, who will guide you on the process instead of pushing you onto a path that is not right for your UNIQUE SITUATION. There are a few things to consider when you are looking for the best lender for you.

The Lender
You aren’t going to mesh with everyone! Even the best lender may not meet you needs. Do you feel comfortable with the lender? Do you feel they have your best interests in mind? Are they explaining the process in a way that makes you understand instead of more confused?

Your Unique Situation
Different lenders have expertise in different areas. Make sure the lender you choose has experience with your situation. Ask about their experience with low credit score, investment property purchases, self employed borrowers, whatever your unique situation.

Options
Does your lender actually offer what you need? Do they offer various government programs such as VA, USDA, FHA, or zero down programs? Do they offer niche programs such as Homes for Heroes?

Read Customer Reviews
Just like choosing a restaurant, reviews can be a great indicator of the kind of service you’ll get. Be sure to check out all the review providers such as Facebook or Zillow, to make sure the reviews are great across the board.

Knowing you don’t know everything is a great first step to educating yourself on the process. I’d love to help you figure out how to start working towards owning a home NOW!
